Happy New Year! Ready for the color you're going to see everywhere in 2012? I hope you like reddish orange because thanks to the Pantone Color Institute "Tangerine Tango"--"Tangie" or Pantone 17-1463 to those who enjoy giving cutesy and/or sterile nicknames to colors-- has been tapped as the color of the new year. Pantone describes the hue as providing "the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward." Tangerine tango has already appeared in the Spring 2012 collections of Tommy Hilfinger, Alice + Olivia and Nanette Lepore among others. Get ready for this color to be featured in cosmetics, menswear and home accents as well.

If you're not sure how you feel about THE color of 2012, it's always easy to incorporate a bright color like this into your nail color or lipstick rotation without much commitment. Two great options for nails are Essie's Vermillionaire and OPI Atomic Orange. For lips give MAC's Morange a try.
